Can 2011 Jetta & 2012 Passat revive VW’s fortunes in US?

Volkswagen AG, the world’s third largest motor vehicle manufacturer is  pushing hard to meet its target of becoming the world’s largest automaker by 2018.

In a view to meet its target, the German auto-maker is focusing on developed markets like United States apart from Europe to boost its image and sales, which was battered due to its poor marketing strategy and small players like Subaru which chipped away its market share through its price factor.

The company will launch the 2011 Jetta and the 2012 Passat to revive its fortunes in US.

Speaking at the Automotive News World Congress, Jonathan Browning, CEO of VW Operations in United States, said, “Somewhere along the way, frankly, we lost our bearings in this market, and we failed to build on that emotional equity and became more of a marginal brand whereas once we had been pioneers,”

Let’s see if VW can make any headways this year.

Untill then, All the best! Volkswagen Das. Auto.
