Google Goggles cracks Sudoku, Barcodes & more…

Life couldn’t be more simpler with Google Goggles 1.3 client, a newer version for the Android powered smartphones, which has taken search to a new level. Until now, search indexing was only possible through manually typing or voice search through your phone. But now, with Google Goggles, all you have to do is take a snap of the item you wish to know more on the new Samsung Nexus - Android powered smartphone and it will index results in a jiffy. Yes, you read it right!

Language—A Barrier No-more! The new application can translate menus or brochures to your preferred language, so next time you go on a vacation, don’t worry about the language skills, Google will do it for you.

Encyclopedia in your pockets: Ever felt annoyed about enquiring about the landmark masterpieces like Eifel Tower or Taj Mahal, no more!

Just take a snap on Google Goggles, its image recognition software will throw all the information about the monument or structure you wish to know.

Barcode recognition: Just hover over the product’s barcode or QR code and Google will search all the information like model, make of the product to the price, reviews to a nearest store, so that you can quickly purchase one for yourself.

Adding online power to offline content:  What’s more, you can also try your hand at art works or ads featured in popular news papers and magazines, and Goggles will index more information about the art work or throw related ads and videos.

World in your pocket! Next time your friend gives you his business card, don’t strain your fingers, simply take a snap and Goggles will automatically save it to your address book!

Logos: Next time you find a new logo, but are unsure of the business it is into, just take a picture, Goggles will index all information about the company. Now, memorizing is history!

Books and more: Find your friend’s book interesting, ask no more! Just place the book before your Android powered phone and click. You get all the details like Price, Index and info about the author. You can instantly buy the book through your Google Check account.

Puzzles: No more scratching your head! Casey Ho, Software Engineer from Google showcased the new Google Goggle’s might on the Samsung Nexus smartphone, by simply scanning the puzzle and within seconds, the phone throwed the answers, which outsmarted 2009 Sudoku National Champion — Tammy McLeod, who was still half way through. Of course, it has its own limitations, it can only solve standard Sudoku and still not capable of cracking Sudoku Variations (see image)
