Gas Authority of India Ltd, the largest state-owned gas transportation company has posted robust growth of 12.56% in its net profits to Rs. 968 cr against Rs. 860 cr on Y-o-Y basis for the quarter ended December 2010.
During the period the net sales also clocked around 35.19% to Rs. 8,365 cr against Rs. 6,187.80 cr.
The script during the day touched high of Rs. 491 before closing down at Rs.471 at the end of trading. In a statement released by the company, it credited the increase in profits to increasing gas trading and transmission and is on track to deploy additional 1500 km pipeline by Dec 2011.
